The iconic Volkswagen Golf GTI was arguably the first "hot hatch" when VW made a small hatchback fun to drive. Now in its seventh generation, the GTI still lives up to the original's sporting intentions.

The 4-door Golf GTI is powered by a 220-hp turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine and the choice of a six-speed manual transmission or a six-speed Direct Shift Gearbox, (DSG), which allows the driver to shift sequentially, without doing the clutch work, via paddles on the steering wheel or the shift lever itself. An extensive list of standard equipment on the S trim includes features such as cloth sport seats with plaid inserts, LED fog lamps, LED daytime running lights and taillights, alloy pedals, satellite radio, 18-inch aluminum wheels, sport suspension, rear camera, six airbags, an 8-speaker audio system with 6.5-inch touchscreen, Bluetooth and a multi-function leather steering wheel. The SE adds adaptive full LED headlights, a panorama power sunroof, Kessy keyless access with push-button start, upgraded brakes, limited slip differential, Front Assist with Autonomous Emergency Braking, Blind Spot Monitor with rear traffic alert. The top of the line Autobahn adds a navigation system, DCC suspension, power driver seat, Climatronic and a Fender audio system.
